Finals Fever Arrives for Austral Phoenix

Published Thu 30 Jul 2026

Finals have arrived, with a club-record eight Austral Phoenix teams set to compete across a huge weekend of volleyball.

It is the strongest finals representation in Austral’s history and an achievement worth celebrating. The milestone reflects the commitment of our players and coaches throughout the season, as well as the work of the team managers, volunteers and supporters behind them.

Six teams will contest do-or-die semi-finals on Saturday, while our Premier teams will take centre stage at Adelaide Arena on Sunday.

Sudden-Death Saturday

Reynella East will be awash with purple on Saturday, with five Phoenix teams fighting for places in their respective Grand Finals.

The action begins at 9:00am with a double-header against Central Adelaide, as our Division 1 Men and Division 1 Women launch the day.

Division 3 Women will also face Central Adelaide, before the Reserve Men take on South Adelaide at 1:00pm. The day concludes with the Division 2 Men facing Norwood at 3:00pm.

Meanwhile, our Division 5 Men head to Mount Lofty for an 11:00am semi-final against Adelaide University.

With every Saturday fixture carrying win-or-go-home stakes, our teams would love plenty of purple in the stands as they fight to keep their seasons alive.

Premier Double-Header at Adelaide Arena

The focus shifts to Adelaide Arena on Sunday for two huge Premier matchups against USC Lions.

At 12:00pm, the Premier Women compete for a place in the Grand Final. After an outstanding season, they are now just one victory away from the biggest match of the year.

At 4:00pm, the Premier Men begin their finals campaign in an elimination final. The winner will progress to the preliminary final, while the losing team’s season will come to an end.

With both Premier teams facing USC Lions on the same court, it promises to be a brilliant day of high-stakes volleyball—and we would love to see a strong Phoenix contingent in the stands.
